Garden Grove Brewing and Urban Winery Give Em Helles
STYLE: Helles
INGREDIENTS: German malt and Hallertau hops
ABV: 5.5% (now 5.2%)
IBU: 19 (now 20)
AVAILABILITY: 12-Ounce Can (Limited)
Stats above taken from the brewery’s can and website.
Appearance
Dark gold, crystal clear, and a nice, white head.
Aroma
Floral, orange, and honey notes.
Taste
Balance is great with a slight malt edge. Biscuity and bready elements are full in as well.
Mouthfeel
Dry, balanced mouthfeel, with carbonation not too heavy or light.
Overall
All German ingredients do make a difference. I would love to know their water profile/treatment for this. Easy, sessionable, and would love to have this at any outdoor-based event. German bar food…spaetzle, brats, the whole nine for sure.
Thank you so much to Sterling aka @RVABeerMeister for sharing this during the pandy.
Cheers and remember:
Life’s a tap…drink up ’til it’s dry.
