Life On Tap Episode #399: Amenable Bitter (Suarez Family Brewery Amenable - English Ordinary Bitter)

Dan is delighted to open another rarity: an ordinary bitter in Suarez Family Brewery Amenable, made with UK-based ingredients.

Suarez Family Brewery Amenable Bitter

STYLE: English Ordinary Bitter
INGREDIENTS: English malt, lightly-cooked invert sugar; Challenger and Goldings hops; UK-derived yeasts
ABV: 4.2%
IBU: N/A
AVAILABILITY: 16 oz. cans/Draft/Cask (Rotating)

Stats above taken from the brewery’s can and website.

Appearance

Lightly-tinted orange on gold with a white, frothy head.

Aroma

Graininess with a malt, almost maple-level sweetness.

Taste

Grain note continues and morphs into sweet biscuit element.

Mouthfeel

Super-soft and supple on the mouthfeel.

Overall

I love seeing bitters out in the ether, so this was a drinkable delight. I could definitely see myself watching some footy over many of these, perhaps with some typical pub fare.

Cheers and remember:

Life’s a tap…drink up ’til it’s dry.
