As July comes to close, Dan cracks open the latest batch of Singlecut’s Still Making Noise while looking ahead to this year’s Beer Bloggers Conference.
Singlecut Still Making Noise IPA
The latest batch of the session version of Workers Are Going Home weighs in at 5.0% ABV with 54 IBUs.
Appearance
Juice-like, hazy and burnt orange in color with quickly-receding carbonation.
Aroma
Ripe and dried mango, backed up by more tropical fruit notes of papaya, pineapple, a hint of kiwi and apricot.
Taste
Leads off with a memory of that tropical nose, moving to hop dankness and slight bitterness with a side of citrus zest. It closes out with a hint of citrus pith and a slightly off-dry finish.
Mouthfeel
The smaller amount of carbonation in this can contributed to a soft, supple mouthfeel and accentuated the flavor.
Overall
I would have loved to do a side by side with the Workers Are Going Home to see the two recipes compare. This is truly a sessionable IPA, but definitely doesn’t lack in the aroma, flavor and related departments. I recommend this with a nice Baja-style fried fish taco with some habanero crema and slaw for some brisk acidity.
Cheers and remember:
